5 out of 5 stars What a TV and I am hard to please   January 6, 2009

Well I took the bull by the horns and finally bought a new tv, and what a tv!!
The KDL-32v4000 is a cheap but amazing TV. Having taking it out of the box I was impressed, it is stunning!

The other reviews have said most of what I would say like:

easy to set up
great screen
fantastic sound
all round winner

But I want to say I have been watching football tonight and didnt notice any blurring or any thing.

I would say if I had 360 left in my bank I would have another one in my bedroom!!!

Had our old TV for a few years and decided it was time for an upgrade. Plumped for this one and are thus far very pleased with it. It's incredibly easy to set up and use and I had it up and running in a matter of minutes. The picture and sound quality are both very good as you'd expect from Sony and all in all it's aan excellent package for the price.

Recieved this today and have been impressed with the quality from start to finish.

I was worried that SD content would be poor but this is handled very well in my opinion. Watching LOTR's upscaled I noticed the picture quality is very sharp and clear, a noticable improvement.

Sound quality seems better than on my old CRT.

I managed to get this Sony for 299 (with 5 guarantee) from another high street retailer. Excellent value.

As an x tv engineer I find these sets give a very poor picture when watching VHS Tapes or standard DVD`S could this b due to the fact that ALL CRT tv`s were made to display the 625 line broadcasts which incidentally displays 575 lines on screen which IS interlaced, these lcd tv`s scan at 720p & thats progressive or 1080p or 1080i yes its interlaced but u r putting 575 into 1080!With all their electronic trickery the image is still poor why can`t these manufacturers add the
625i system as an option after all when we go digital ALL tv companies will still broadcast the 625 system but digitally,I feel we r being mislead by the tv manufacturers the world will not go HD overnight FACT!

3 out of 5 stars Ok for price   January 3, 2009

We just bought this to replace a temporarily owned (failing tube) Sony trinitron CRT.
Although it is quite neat and doesn't take up half the room the Trinitron did and the set was quick to set up and get running, we are a little disappointed in the picture quality with a Sky Box (non HD).
DVD seems better. Sound is reasonable but again not as good as expected.
Presumably the picture issue with the Sky box will be an issue with most if not all LCDs (?)
We looked in June and the prices were 600 ish, so we are glad we only paid just above half this.
