I purchased the Hannspree mainly as a PC monitor, which it just achieves, quality is pretty poor in this mode, would not recommend anyone purhase one for this purpose. As to the TV side not really using apart from DVD and the and the RGB connection will not work, only on scart, so all in all should have spent a little more and purchased a diffirent TV/PC Monitor

I bought a LCD TV 28' ( Hannspree Xv-S ST281MAB) yesterday (UK) and the picture quality is poor and there is ghosting, snow or static.
From company's answer (FAQ), it can not help any more.
I used old tranditaional TV which can be watched clear TV 5 channels, but once transfer to LCD TV 28', the picure quality becomed terrible (snow, ghosting and gray colour....not clear to see image). Sound is good. Can anyone help me what was that and how to setting it and this one should have FREEVIEW, but I did auto search for many times. It only shows 4 channels with terrible images.
Can anyone help me about that?
Or this is faulty LCD TV
Many thanks,
Eric
Good but flawed June 15, 2010 Mr. David Adler (London, UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read most of the reviews on Amazon and took the plunge. Basically I am pleased but have 3 issues:
1. I don't recall anyone mentioning if you scroll through the epg to a different channel to the one you are watching, it changes to that channel!! Very, very irritating - I don't have any other AV equipment where you can't scroll through the epg and stay where you are (e.g. you want to see what else is on during the adverts). I emailed Hanspree who stated this is the tv's design.... hmmm and they took weeks to tell me this!
2. The viewing angle, as I suspected, affects the brightness worst in the vertical plane so if watching from slightly below the picture is darker.
3. So far if I connect my laptop through an hdmi cable I only get the picture, no sound but this may be down to the pc.
Other than that, on an hd source the picture is very clear.
Great Purchase June 12, 2010 Sharon Glasspool I chose this TV because although an unknown brand, had good reviews. I wanted a new TV 26" was a bit too small and 32" too big. There are not many 28" TV's around. Was really impressed with how easy the set-up was and have used all the connections 2xHDMI, 1xscart & will be using PC input later. It is so easy to change from 1 piece of equipment to another. A great purchase.
Hannspree full HD 28' LCD TV June 9, 2010 Ken Mavor (Aberdeen , UK) Excellent LCD TV. Full HD at a very good price and no problems setting it up. Bluray DVDs through it look brilliant. Would recomend this TV. Amazon good as always.
