5 out of 5 stars Excellent TV!!!   March 6, 2010

Ordered this tv close to midnight on Wednesday and it came on Saturday morning at 9am.

Decided to buy this tv after much shopping around, and chose this over the Samsung B450, because of the supposed panel lottery issues with Samsungs, and because I was getting a 32" I was told many times that I would only notice a difference between HD ready and full HD (1080p) if I was closer than 4 feet to the screen (which is very close), and so chose this over the LH3000 , which is £50 more.

I'm glad I listened to this advice as sitting a few feet away, the picture quality is fantastic. I'll go through the plus points to this quality tv...

Gaming: have played fifa 10 on my xbox 360 and quite frankly the quality is stunning, absolutely no sound lag as some reviewers have claimed. I have connected as component, not using scart or hdmi, and so I can't comment on how good those connections would be, although I presume HDMI would be even better, other than the fact I can't see how the picture quality could get any better! No motion blur at all.

Digital TV: TV picked up 70+ digital channels in less than 3-4 mins. I connected the tv with the antenna as it recommends, but the actual television pictures will depend on your signal. Nevertheless, all the regular tv channels are available on digital, and soon will not be available anyway with the digital switchover. Picture is fantastic, and the quality is maintained even if you move around the room, unlike many other LCDs.

Sound: the tv has invisible speakers, which could make you wonder how good the sound could be. However, the sound quality is actually excellent, and you can adjust the bass/treble to your liking. The sound is crisp and clear, and stays clear as you turn up the volume. I have this tv for the bedroom, but sit a good few metres away, and dont need to turn it up very loud at all to be able to hear it clearly. The sound goes up to 100 but I find 15-20 is more than enough. I've turrned it up to 50 to test it and it was still perfectly clear.

Picture quality: the picture quality is excellent, and the options regarding adjusting the picture are very expansive. You can adjust the picture to just how you like it. There is no noticeable motion blur watching fast-paced football either. Colours are extremely bright and crisp (should you want them to be).

DVD picture quality: I am playing dvds through my xbox and the quality is still astounding. If you have, or are going to buy, a blu-ray player, PS3 or upscaling DVD player, the quality will blow you away.

You'll love all the little things about this tv as much as the big things. Things such as cinema and sport settings, how you can edit input labels so that for example, component connection is named as 'game' on my tv and has a little picture of a controller, I havent connected anything via HDMI or SCART, but there are options to name connections and set them as different inputs. There is AV1, AV2 and AV3, Component, RGB, HDMI1 and HDMI2, and any can be named as VCR, DVD, Set top box, Satellite, Cable Box, Game, PC, HD-DVD and blu-ray. This is extremely useful if you have alot of connections and inputs to your tv, as you can easily select which one you want to view.

Value: this TV is widely available for under £350 now, and Amazon is the place I found it cheapest. Great delivery service I must say.

Just buy this tv, and see for yourself how awesome it is!

3 out of 5 stars Ok for price but developed fault after 2 months....no picture at all!   February 22, 2010

I bought this tv based in reviews on this site. It is indeed easy to set up - I set it up myself no problem. Issues to note as experienced by myself as follows:
I do not have digital signal yet so cannot comment on any aspect of that - but there is always a delay after switch on before screen lights up - normal for tv - but takes getting used to. You have to select 'input' button and actively switch between video, dvd or tv input - that's irritating - my old tv just 'knew' what it was required to do and showed without me having to switch inputs etc. The most concerning and obviously now inconveniencing and irritating is that there were occasions when I'd switch on and a picture would appear briefly then disappear. A swtich off and on would rectify it - until today when no amount of fiddling and off/on-ing I did I got no picture at all. Sound but no picture. I ran LG helpline and the woman was perfectly lovely and said it needed to be sent away for repair etc. I now have to re-package and take to my place of work for collection as I can't take a day off to wait for a faulty tv to be collected...and will be without it for a week. Can live with that of course - but just read another review on line where someone else has had same problem - faulty motherboard - whcih even though it was replaced went a second time....so -not sure how common this problem is - maybe I just got a duff one - but best shared than not I think.
