Product Description The Allcam T703 is a major advance in portable televisons. Like the predecessor T100, Allcam T703 received both analog and DVB-T digital tv (Freeview) channels. Why would you want to have an anlog tv tuner in a digital tv? The open secret is the Freeview signal quality at present is not good enough to get decent reception without a roof-mounted aerial in most of area, let alone reception on the open road or in car! The Allcam T703 is also a Freeview digital tv recorder which can record the Freeview channels into a SD card or USB 2.0 flash drives or external hard drives (FAT32 formatted). The Allcam T703 Portable Analog/Digital TV has a builtin SD/MMC card slot at the top. If your SD memory card has JPEG photo, MP3 music, or MPEG-4 video files on them, the Allcam T730 can even play them as if it is a digital photo frame, MP3 player, or media player. The Allcam T703 can also be used as freeview box for your old analog-only TVs via composite video (Red, yellow, white cinch). If your TV has only scart socket, then you can have a scart to composit video adapter (Pls make sure the adapter is capable of both input & output) The Allcam T703 can also be used as a video monitor for car-rear view cameras or mini CCTV systems. Allcam T703 has a buitlin lithium battery. This is a huge advantage against most of the portable video monitors or digital photo frames which has normally does not have internal battery. The battery last ~ 3 hours when it is used as a TV or as a video display. If this is not enough for your field work, then you can use our PM60 Universal Battery which will last ~10hours.

Nice picture..But March 1, 2010 Dr. John Berloth (Tadley UK) Looking at the specification this is great value for money, but everything goes downhill after that. Firstly you need a degree in Chinglee's to understand the user manual, but come on...who reads the manual anyway. Well the unit I purchased would not turn on, would not turn off, would not display any menues when wanted but would throw one up just as breaking point arrived. The analogue tuner did not work, and the digital tuner was at best tempremental. If you like a challange perhaps it's the set for you. I would not recomend it

Like the other user this has been bought as an external monitor for my video camera a pro panasonic HPX-301. I am amazed at how good it is with decent colour balance and the resolution is good enough to do critical focus with. I cant comment on the TV side as I will not be using it but it did come with the rubber aerial pictured. The rubber coating makes it look very pro and the integrated battery which is replaceable is a good feature. The manual is a bit iffy but I managed to find my way around the menus. The addition of a car cable and all other AV cables is good too. Add to that SD and USB ports and this is a very good buy if you need a cheap and cheerful TV or monitor. Allcam is the name of the company and like others my unit is branded Orbit on the back.
Allcam / Orbit 7" Digital TV Freeview Recorder December 9, 2008 C. Wilson (United Kingdom) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought this for use in a small kitchen, and its giving a great picture and clear sound for a small TV, I like the idea you can record to SD or HCSD cards and watch back later. A couple of points to note, the aerial supplied with it might be OK if your in sight of a transmitter, I had to attach a indoor aerial with booster and hide it out of the way on top of my kitchens units close to the ceiling, I am getting most channels with this set up, including the five main channels but some channels, music, film 4, can be there one minute and gone the next, no fault of the TV as with any TV if it cant get a signal you wont get a picture, so bear in mind where your going to use it and what the signal strength is like in your area, one other point using the remote to turn the set off does exactly that, It doesn't go in to standby where the remote turns it back on, you have to hold the on/off button on the front of the TV set for two second to turn it on again, not a big problem but I found this strange, one last point I am using this TV for digital TV broadcast and it doing the job very well, I did switch it over to analogue using the remote and done a quick channel search to test it on analogue, it found all five TV channels, but for some reason there was no sound with them, maybe I did not tune it right or the booster I'm using for digital was to strong for analogue, I did not pursue this as I am using it for digital TV broadcasts and it working fine like this, In all I think it's a great buy with lots of features like the SD and USB expansion for photos movies etc, Its doing all I want it to do, but bear in mind the points I mentioned it might not be everyone's cup of tea.
Not bad but.... August 29, 2008 C. Carter (UK) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
As with C & J Yates above, I also received an Orbit unit rather than the advertised Allcam. But rather oddly the contents of my Orbit box (which had obviously been previously opened) included two of every accessory (AV cables, battery charger etc.). But no antenna was included, which is clearly shown in the Amazon screenshot. When I queried these points with Allcam I was told: "the Rubber Antenna is optional accessory, you need to pay for it extra. TV reception strong depends on the aerial you are using and the location where you are, I am afraid the Rubber Antenna can't guarantee this as well."
Well as it happens I didn't plan on using the T703 for much TV viewing anyway and it's now used as a portable location video monitor for an HD camera. Battery life isn't great but I like the rubberised finish of the unit. The 16:9 screen is quite good quality for the price, sharp with good contrast and colour etc. However, the instruction is probably (no, definitely) the poorest I have ever read and verges on being completely incomprehensible due to the use of worst types of 'Japlish' or 'Chinglish' translation.
A Nightmare Experience August 8, 2008 C & J Yates (Herts, England) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
The item delivered with the box and user manual was marked with Orbit branding rather than Allcam. Did a search on the internet and found out Orbit is a trade company based in Hong Kong. Don't know whether one has infringed intellectual property trade mark rights.
My first impressions were that the TV looked alright but my nightmare soon started. It is extremely difficult to understand the user manual as it is written in very poor English. Tried to scan for digital TV, I was disappointed as it found no channels. Tried analogue, the scan started but stopped half-way whilst the screen flashed with colour strips and snowflakes. Tried to scan again but the remote stopped working. Reported the problems to Allcam. They asked me to send the TV back to them for replacement. After 5 days without hearing from them, I contacted them. They told me the TV works and the remote buttons need to be pressed and held. They also told me they would send the TV back and charge me additional postage. I asked for a full refund but they ignored my request and insisted I should have pressed and held the buttons. I have told them many times the remote worked initially but stopped working. I submitted a complaint to Amazon and received a full refund straight way. I have ended in a lost of £7.50 postage in returning the TV to Allcam without any joy.
