5 out of 5 stars Five star product   March 7, 2010

Fantastic television - there is nothing we can find fault with. We purchased it from Amazon itself, not a trader, with their next day (arrive before 1pm) delivery option - it arrived at 8.30am, with even the box in perfect condition.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!   February 13, 2010

It is one of 4 TV's in the house and by far the best. The other sets are also fairly new but you get what you pay for and whilst the Sony is not cheap it does offer very good value.

5 out of 5 stars Really pleased   February 12, 2010
P. R. Edwards (South Coast UK)
Did a lot of research and was quite impressed with the backlit LED models from LG but in the end decided to go for an LCD model. Choice came down to Panasonic and Sony as the other makes didn't seem to have quite the same level of quality, although they were cheaper. Also considered a larger screen, Sony provide a template that will help you to assess how your bigger TV would look in it's location. Do try this, as I'm so glad we didn't go for anything bigger.

We bought this model having read nothing but good reviews and I can whole heartedly join in with praise for this TV. Setup was easy, Freesat is great, with more and more good programmes appearing on the BBC HD channel. We also have a Sony HDD/DVD and anything watched via this device, either DVD or TV channel, gets upscaled to 1080i which certainly enhances the picture.

Voice zoom is a good feature as it allows you to enhance the dialogue rather than just turning up the volume. We now watch TV at a lower overall volume because of this.

Picture quality is brilliant with great contrast and colours. Sound is the only weak point as with all LCD TV's, but this model is as good as it gets given that limitation. Go ahead and buy you wont be disappointed. We ended up getting ours from a Sony dealer for £595 with a 5year guarantee and a Blu Ray player thrown in, so shop around.

4 out of 5 stars BRAVIA TV OK   January 31, 2010
Mr. P. D. Jones (England)
This TV, [[ASIN:B001RCU7FI Sony Bravia KDL32W5500U 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview, 100Hz Motionflow],]has good sound, colour and picture quality, is easy to mount on its stand and has useful functions such as Picture In Picture & split screen viewing (PAP). I also like the energy saving capability that will turn the TV off if I forget to turn it off.

The main gripe is its performance on 'dark' scenes, when the picture contrast produces an almost black screen, despite using its backlight features or contrast changes. Secondly it does have some trouble with high speed motion when the decompression of the digital signal simply is not of high enough quality.

If you feed sound through an external didgtal tuner (e.g. BT's Vision box) directly to a stereo, the TV processes the picture too slowly and you get lip sync delays not apparent using an analogue TV. This suggests the TV is a little slow processing that information and getting it onto the screen.

All this said, this TV is a good buy.
