Arrived in 2 days (even on Free Super Saver Delivery) and initial setup was very simple.
Replacing a badly knackered 32' CRT I was bound to be impressed by this TV but it's still managed to exceed my expectations so far.
No backlight problems on mine and once I set the various upscaling options on the TV (and attached PS3) I've got most things displaying in 1080p which is incredibly lifelike and crystal-clear.
The 2x10w speakers are reasonable for normal use but a Receiver and Speakers are recommended for the more serious audiophile or gamer.
The only niggles are the Guide Plus+ channel list resetting to the top of the list each time you return to the Guide and I can't seem to find a way to have the Channel Up/Down button to just use the Favourite Channels I've set.

Excellent delivery as promised by Amazon. TV quickly up and running with initial early instructions but full manual not included in box. Initially told to download it from the internet - all 119 pages of it ! But good sense prevailed and printed download arrived a few days later.

I searched about three weeks for purchasing the Sony HD LCD.then i found good price on amazon and i get the item next day. it was amazing and easy to install and very good picture quality then i register with sony and get three years warranty as well, thats very nice desceion get the Sony. i would like to recomend this product... thanks for reading

Bought this TV after much research. Would give it 5 stars if the sound was better.
Pros:
Outstanding picture quality, automatically provides best picture settings according to what you are watching, easy to operate, elegant, sync with other sony appliances is very useful, good remote but lacks 'previous channel button' which I found useful with my old tv for flicking between two channels e.g. during adverts.
Cons:
Sound has very little punch and is definitely the most dissapointing aspect - guess it's ok for viewing everyday TV. That said, I think most flatscreens have relatively poor sound.
The TV freeview guide is rather slow and not as easy to use as my old freeview box. When you press guide it takes you to the top of the channel list again which is annoying.
