 Does LG have quality control? March 18, 2010
A Yank in the UK
I purchased this LG tv and when I turned it on there was a bright blue spot just off the centre of the screen. I read up about this and it's called "stuck pixels." I returned it and asked Amazon for a replacement, and the second tv had more stuck pixels, the sound dropped off long enough to miss a word, and the tv kept changing the aspect ratio (in mid-play) of one of my favourite DVDs (which I've never had trouble with). It's possible that not all these issues were the fault of the televisions, but I'd never heard of anyone having even one of these, let alone all three in one set. I returned the replacement tv to Amazon and purchased a Samsung instead. That's working fine, and I'd have to add that the stand on the Samsung is much more substantial than the one on the LG. I'm sure the LG would have had fine picture and sound quality, and nice features, if only LG had enough quality control to test the products before they left the factory.
But I have to say that Amazon was stellar in handling the returns and replacement. Their system for returns is as simple as can be and they didn't give me the third degree, just wanted to know what was wrong with the sets. They even upgraded the delivery method on the replacement to first class, and sent a nice e-mail to explain the process. The packaging on the first LG was a little over the top, and DHL/Home Delivery Network missed the first scheduled pick up on the second return, but all in all, I'd advise buying from Amazon if you think an item might need to be returned. Great job, Amazon, and thanks for the excellent service.

Excellent TV bought for the bedroom, purchased the optional wall bracket which is first class. Picture quality and sound quality are fine for a small television and overall fantastic value for money, about £70 cheaper than anywhere else. One annoying feature is the unusable USB port which does not work with this version of the firmware. However by searching online and following some easy instructions you can reload a previous version of the the firmware and then use the usb stick to play DiVx movies. The set up of the TV took only a couple of minutes and there is some messing about until you can find picture settings that are suitable.

After shopping around for ages I decided on this one, the reviews helped. It is a beautiful sleek black TV, so easy to set up and go. Built in freeview is very helpful, I love it. The screen also tilts.

Easy to order, very quick delivery received in %100 good condition, very easy to set up, superb picture and sound to match, even though I am a paraplegic person all controls on the remote are ok for me to use.
So yes I am very pleased with my deal.
