LCD TV

The world is going flat. No, not in the way that was described in a best-selling book about the economy, it is going flat in terms of viewing devices. LCD technology arrived televisions several years ago after first being seen on computer monitors and they are slowly taking over the world of TV.
If you walk into any electronics store you will find that 90% of all televisions on sale are of the flat variety and of those flat televisions more than half of them are employing LCD technology. LCD TVs remove outdated color tubes in favor of pixels which allows the televisions of today to be significantly flatter, thinner and more vivid in terms of picture than the TVs of old.
LCD televisions have a number of important benefits for consumers. First and foremost LCD TVs offer better picture quality than standard televisions. The picture is more vivid and the colors more accurate than ever before seen. They also come equipped to deal with high definition television signals. High definition television is a new technology that creates a much better picture than standard definition television.
LCD televisions also have a nice form factor. Because they are flat and light they can be mounted to a wall or placed onto a small narrow table or media center. They are actually space savers in a lot of ways and work well for people living in small apartments or even people who would simply rather not have their spaced cluttered up by big bulky televisions.
I remember during my childhood my parents had a huge television, one that came in one of those enclosures, and my mother attempted to spruce the device up with knick knacks and dollies on top. Really, it just looked like a television with stupid stuff on it. No dollies or knick knacks necessary for LCD TVs and even if you like that look you are going to have a hard time getting them to balance on the razor thin edges of an LCD TV.
Overall we are moving into LCD land and the televisions of the past are going to be absolutely obsolete in a few years, if that long. Those looking to buy a new TV might as well invest in the future of television.
